I get distracted by the format and lose the main feelings behind the story. The reason I did this is because I tend not to enjoy reading books in verse. Review and Evaluation: First of all, I feel I need to mention that I did not read this title. Kristina must manage her relationship with her boyfriend Chase and try to get clean to protect her baby. Now Kristina must be the strong one and fight Bree back in order to rectify her life. Bree got the attention of Brendan, a boy who provides her with crank, rapes her, and gets her pregnant. Kristina once again took a backseat to Bree who sought out those who could help her get another fix. It is Bree who begins a relationship with Adam, a neighbor boy who keeps her in arm’s reach of more crank.Īt first it seems like Kristina’s journey back home to Reno would end her dance with the monster and her need for Bree to fight her battles. It is Bree who first encounters the monster, her name for the meth. In order to combat the unease, Kristina reveals an alter-ego named Bree. This lifestyle is not something Kristina is comfortable with at all. He spends most of his time at a bowling alley drinking and doing drugs. Her father has not bettered himself at all. However, now the plans were made and now Kristina is required to leave her home in Reno, NV and spend time with her father in New Mexico. Summary: Kristina hasn’t seen her father for quite some time. Reader’s Annotation: While visiting her estranged father, Kristina develops and alter-ego named Bree and falls hard into the world of meth addiction.
